Occasionally we have had moments where we identified clear mega trends and actions our clients should consider.  For instance, on October 8, 2002 we published a special report indicating the stock market may have bottomed.  In our overall evaluation we recommended considering the following actions:  "If you believe in buying low and selling high..." Buy Stocks, Sell Real Estate, Sell Gold, Sell Long Term Bonds and Refinance Mortgages.  Stocks came back strong in 2003, the real estate bubble broke a couple years later (yes, we were a bit early, but still right) and interest rates rose.

Or perhaps you would like to know what we were thinking after the markets peaked in October of 2007.  In the Novemebr 2, 2007 STAAR Strategies Report we analyzed possible economic direction by weighing positives and negatives.  The negatives were greater than the positives.  We particularly remarked on credit markets, energy prices, inflation, consumer debt and confidence, federal spending, lack of political leadership, Iraq and illegal immigration as negative influences that would affect investment markets.
